Let Us Pray...

Migrant and Refugee Week

14th - 20th June

no one is a stranger to you and no one is ever far from your loving care.

In your kindness watch over refugees and asylum seekers, those separated from their loved ones, those who are lost, and those who have been exiled from their homes.

Bring them safely to the place where they long to be,

and help us always to show your kindness to strangers and those in need.

2020 Sacramental Program

Dear Parents,

I am able to shed a little light in regards to arrangements being made for the sacraments.

Arrangements for the Sacrament of Confirmation are completely beyond our control. All Confirmations have been suspended until further notice.  We will continue to wait for a directive from Archbishop Comensoli.

I am in the process of re-scheduling the Sacrament of Reconciliation in early Term Three.  The sacrament will take on the form of the First Rite, which means the students will participate in personal confession and absolution with the priest, but the 'mass' element is excluded.  The sacrament will occur during the school day and due to the current and on-going restrictions, parents and families will not be able to attend.  I appreciate some families may find this difficult, however please understand that we are endeavouring to abide by the government guidelines, yet still make the sacraments available for the students.  Once a date has been finalised, parents will be notified.

At this stage, the Sacrament of Eucharist will be postponed until Term 4 (to be celebrated during the weekly Sunday parish mass at St. Augustine's Church).  Hopefully restrictions will continue to be lifted in the coming months which will allow for a greater number of people to congregate in churches.  Please be aware however, it is quite likely that there will continue to be restrictions on the number of 'family members' that will be able to attend.

Kind regards,

Vanessa Dal Santo (Religious Education Leader)
